1. Who is responsible for your information
Home Cinema Store is operated by Elevate Living (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2024/386583/07 (“we”, “us” or “our”). We are the responsible party for personal information processed through homecinemastore.co.za and our related enquiry, quotation, supply and service activities.

2. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, company details, billing or delivery information, room and project information, equipment preferences, correspondence, quotation and transaction records, warranty information and information you voluntarily provide in an enquiry.
Our website and hosting systems may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages visited, timestamps, security logs and cookie identifiers.
Please do not send payment-card details through an ordinary enquiry form or email. Payment information is processed only through the method specified in an accepted quotation or by an authorised payment provider.
3. Why we process information
We process personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and understand your cinema requirements;
- prepare quotations, recommendations, designs and project scopes;
- procure, supply, deliver, install, calibrate and support equipment;
- manage payments, accounting, tax, warranties and business records;
- communicate about an order, appointment, project or support request;
- operate, secure, diagnose and improve the website and our services;
- prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access; and
- meet contractual and legal obligations or establish and defend legal rights.
We rely on the lawful grounds available under the Protection of Personal Information Act, including your consent where appropriate, performance of a contract, compliance with law, and our legitimate interests or those of a third party where these do not unjustifiably prejudice your rights.
4. Enquiries and direct marketing
Submitting an enquiry authorises us to respond about that enquiry. It does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated marketing. Where electronic direct marketing requires consent, we will request it separately and provide a reasonable way to opt out.

We may use essential cookies and similar technologies required for security, site preferences, forms, logged-in administration and WooCommerce functionality. Optional analytics or marketing technologies will be used only where configured and subject to applicable consent requirements. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, contractual and warranty obligations, security, dispute resolution, and applicable accounting, tax and legal retention periods. Information that is no longer required will be deleted, destroyed or de-identified where reasonably practicable.

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If we become aware of a qualifying security compromise, we will take the steps required by applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to or correction of it, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or request deletion of information that we are not required to retain.

11. Third-party websites and embedded content
Our website may link to manufacturer or other third-party websites and may display embedded content. Those parties control their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their notices before providing information to them.
12. Children
Our specialist equipment and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children without appropriate authorisation.
