In a dedicated cinema, the screen is part of the audio system whether or not it contains a single electronic component.
Acoustically transparent screens
Placing the screen channels behind the image can create a more cinema-like relationship between sound and picture, but the screen material, spacing and front-wall construction all affect the acoustic design.
Screen width changes the speaker layout
The image determines where left, centre and right can physically sit. Masking, aspect-ratio strategy and screen borders can change the usable space again.
This is why we prefer to specify screen, projection and front-stage audio together rather than allowing each trade to make an isolated decision.
One wall, one coordinated design
The projection surface, loudspeakers, acoustic treatment, masking and service access all occupy the same physical zone. Resolving that wall as a single system usually produces a cleaner result than fixing conflicts during installation.
