When Does Infrasonic Bass Make Sense in a Private Cinema?

Very large subwoofers are visually dramatic, but the engineering question is much quieter: does the room and target performance justify meaningful energy below conventional subwoofer territory?

Start with ordinary bass done properly

Seat-to-seat consistency, placement, quantity, headroom, integration and room behaviour matter before extending the system lower.

Then consider infrasonic capability

In the right dedicated cinema, infrasonic systems can extend the physical scale of the soundtrack. They also introduce structural, amplification, DSP, protection and commissioning requirements that should be planned from the beginning.

That is why our larger ASCENDO bass systems are treated as engineered project components rather than impulse purchases.

The room has to earn it

If the room cannot support the required placement, structure, isolation or calibration strategy, the better result may come from improving conventional bass performance rather than chasing extension for its own sake.
