Both Trinnov and StormAudio can sit at the centre of sophisticated immersive-audio systems. The useful way to compare them is to begin with the cinema architecture rather than brand features in isolation.
Count the system before choosing the processor
Base-layer loudspeakers, heights, subwoofer outputs, active crossovers and future expansion all consume processing resources. A processor that appears oversized on a simple channel-count comparison may be exactly right once the complete system is mapped.
Our point of view
We tend to lead with Trinnov because of our experience with the platform and the support relationship behind it. StormAudio remains an important alternative, particularly where its architecture and channel steps suit the project.
Commissioning is part of the product
Whichever platform is selected, bass management, loudspeaker routing, target response and room correction should be treated as part of a measured commissioning process rather than a menu setup exercise.
